Okayyy... another meme from all over

I haven't had any sleep in at least 48 hours. But I can't resist.

Got this from Ria.

If you read this journal, even if I don't speak to you often, post a memory of me.

It can be anything you want.

It can be good or bad, just so long as it happened.

Then post this on your journal too!

Be surprised (or not) about what people remember about you. :)

Time to catch up on some well deserved sleep. Will blog again later when I wake up.

Twisted Valentine

I had always thought, due to past experiences, that Valentine's Day is one of the most unlucky days of the year for me. So I decided not to join all the overrated hype of Valentine's Day.

I dropped by CCP in the afternoon so I can spend at least one hour with Tad in between their rehearsals. Just a quick dinner, then I tagged along with him to the Little Theater. There was a flurry of activity going on in one of the dressing rooms as the costumes were just being distributed. After Tad got his stuff, I took a seat in the house as he had to rehearse one of his songs again. Then I told him that I'll step out for a while, and maybe drop by Dencio's where Sugus and Jerald were hanging out, as they had invited some of the people to join them for a beer or two.

Since there wasn't really much to do in the LT, I headed over to Dencio's to join the guys. As it turned out, no one else could join them. After I finally settled on a drink, we suddenly got into this conversation on "The Secret", as it had become Je's bible since he first started reading it and realized that it really works. Then Sugus started comparing it with "Conversations With God", as it had a lot of similarities with the other book. As for me, I just listened to each guy's points, as they were both right. Simply put, it's just a matter of becoming more optimistic. I had this nonchalant look on my face half the time, but I was still intrigued about "The Secret" (thanks to Ola and Nicco for raising my curiousity) and I'm still debating with myself whether I should buy myself a copy or not.

Well, it wasn't really all that profound the whole time, knowing that this is Sugus and Jerald we're talking about here (HAHAHA). Kidding, guys.

Sometime past 8 o'clock, Sugus had to leave, so after ordering a couple more drinks for me (Je still had about 4 San Migs in the bucket that they had ordered earlier) and a ginormous serving of crispy pata, he paid for everything. Yay, thanks, Sugus! Well, I never say no to free food, so Je and I got 1 order of rice to share, and dug into the crispy pata.

Despite the many pregnant pauses while the two of us were sitting there, I realized that it wasn't awkward anymore. Sure, I had noticed it before last year, but I just noticed it again this evening because of all the silence I had noted in between talks. But I just have to say, panalo ang tanong na ito: "How did you manage to get over me?" HAHAHAHA! Close talaga tayo, pare!

After consuming most of our drinks (hey, I finished mine. Je gave up on his, hahaha), we both decided to call it a night. Je left CCP as I headed back to LT to watch the remaining scenes of the EJ rehearsal. Managed to catch most of Act 2 by the time I had settled in my seat behind Riki, Wenah and Ate Bheng.

Hmm... I wonder if the cast is ready for tomorrow's opening night?

Tad was uber-tired by the time their run had ended, and I guess I don't blame him for taking his anger and fatigue out on me. *sigh* I told you, valentine or no valentine, the occasion is one of my unlucky days of the year, hahaha.

But the conversation we had tonight really made up for it. Thanks, love. Happy Valentine's Day. =)

Crazy meme... Got this from Pammu

... So now I have to pay the price, hahahaha! Just kidding. Anyway, here we go.

If you leave a comment...

1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.

P.S. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal.

On the Gossip Girl TV series

A lot people have been watching Gossip Girl since it first aired, and half the people I know had already downloaded all its episodes so far. I never really got around to downloading the series, plus the fact that I'm still on slow dial-up (hahaha), so I only got to watch its first episode yesterday when it aired on ETC.

I was a big fan of the book series, so I have to admit that I was pretty excited about finally watching it. But I guess I had a lot of expectations, so I was kind of disappointed at what I saw. Hahaha. No offense, they did make some pretty good new twists to some of the characters' storylines, but I guess I still prefer the book series. Dan and Jenny's dad is in a rock band instead of a beat poet? Serena brother Eric is actually younger than her and is in an institution instead of being the older one in college? Chuck and Blair have a little love affair? But it's pretty interesting to see that they made a little twist between Lily Van der Woodsen and Rufus Humphrey.  Well, don't knock it 'til you've tried it. Maybe I'll watch a few more episodes. Who knows, it's kind of refreshing as well.

Ignore me, I'm bored, hahaha.

Found an old entry of Maika's (ooh, shoutout)

This is what I get for trying to google myself out of boredom... at 2 in the morning! Hahaha, I was trying to get myself sleepy so I'm still letting the time pass.

So anyway, I googled my name, and found a super old entry in one of Maika's old blogs. What I came across was a huge sentimental post, remembering all the old friends that came our way, and hardly get in touch with ever since we separated paths and left that crazy world of uhm, groupies.

Naiyak nanaman ako sa sinulat ni Maix about me. I was actually surprised at how much she wrote about me, recalling all those crazy memories.

Hogi: is my cousin.  hehehe. Don't ask why na lang. "HUWAW!"
1st palanca: " Funny how 4 guys with such passion for music and a forum can bring strangers together and be great friends. This is just the beginning, Maika dear, so let's cherish ever moment."
2nd palanca: "This isn't about music anymore."
"One chapter in both our lives has ended. You're graduating from high school and entering college; and I'm moving on to explore more things outside the environment where you and I had met." -> this actually made me cry. No joke.
Hogi became my bestfriend during my last year in High school (she doesn’t know that). If she didn't meet me sa Kenny, things would surely be different. She says, I am the sister she never wanted...este she never had.  Hogi is my all time partner. We'd hang around after classes...until it became a part of our daily lives. She'd visit me when I'm sick...or go with me anywhere I need to go. She's surely a text away. We love Mcdo so much that we can eat there every day...na kahit nasa glorietta na, mcdo pa rin. She was my bridge...the person who connected me to Nyoy for hundred times. She knows who Maika is talaga...both Mikmik and Mikay.  We share everything...parang we live under one roof na nga eh. What’s funny is…I know something about her.  hahaha. Joke lang!  She's the reason why before I hated THURSDAYS and swore I wouldn't go out on Thursdays.(but di na ngayon) We'd go to rob place and once tricked Marlo and got our free lunch. We'd go to Harrison and fool around...even look for school stuffs for the next school year. Wahaha. She saw me cry, saw my eyes really swollen from crying, saw me ERASE the folder I never wanted to erase. She always tells me that I'm a strong person...but that’s because she helped me be one.  Haha. I remember na she wanted to move into a new world...and mamaya kasunod na kami ni Kristel. We'd play with tapas (my coin bank), pug (the pug stuff toy my crushee gave me) lil pug (the pug mj gave me) my froggy prince (who says 'I love you'), sharkieh (my keychain) and paupies (the P99.00 lil dog at Watsons) We'll watch the sun go down from the window sa dorm ko...and went around CCP to wait for the sun to go down. We'll solve mysteries for other people and help them as much as we could. I forgot the word she usually says and she acquired my "Heehee..waheehee" I forgot that word she usually says na nakuha ko din.  And most of all, Hogi is the reason why I met my Kuya Paulo…Robi was my 1st crush and then Dj Myke...and I don’t know how I ended up admiring Paulo.  Ohh. I remember telling hogi, "sana sa bday ko kasing saya din ako ni kristel (my dorm mate)" kasi I called up kuya nyoy and mannos to greet my dormie and Hogi called her up so she can talk to PauloNav. I quote kristel "Bongga ka talaga maix" If Lyn was my fairy GodMother, Hogi is my Santa Claus. During the Akafellas' gig sa DLSU, she chose Paulo over Robi for the free ride home so she could call me up and have me talk to Paulo (although...hehehe. *grins*). I can't wait for my next Palanca.  hehehe. I could go on but then baka maging nobela na talaga yung post ko. Hogi, my long lost sister.

Huwaw, senti.

Hahaha, I couldn't help but laugh when I read the part about McDo. And to think that the last time we hung out was in McDo... all the way in Katipuan (right after I had stormed out of a room in desperate need to avoid someone).

Hope we can get together again soon. Nasan na ang mga ibang MagaGANGda? I miss you guys!

Another weekend went by

Last Saturday, Rosa managed to drag me along with her as she looks for the perfect dress to wear to Trina's wedding. Hahaha. She told me that it's been pretty hard to catch me before, but since this year started, I've been easy to get a hold of.

Met up at South Mall after lunch, and found her browsing in the department store. We checked out these dresses in Sari-Sari, and we found just one in the right color. It was pretty nice, but the off-shoulder sleeves somewhat made her arms a little restricted. Well, we did say that the less movement that she does, the more ladylike she'll move, hahahaha!

Then off we went to Mall of Asia, so we have more stores to check out. First looked at the department store, and she even tried out this dress that looked... well, no offense, Rosa, it did look like a potato sack on you. Rawr, those tall and skinny mannequins get all the luck. Tried our luck in the other stores, and even managed to check out The World of Feng Shui, because Rosa was looking a particular item. Was it the gold coins or something else? Hahaha, I couldn't help but laugh when she told the story about her mom saying that the bowl they put the purchases in was magical, when it's really just a matter of acoustics.

Favorite statement shirt of the day: "I [can still] make cute babies."
HAHAHAHA!

At around 5, we headed off to Sis in Dampa Macapagal to meet with Tita Lita and Tito Romy. Yahooo, seafood party again. And this time with tempura, alright! Hahaha, after a while, I realized that I was already involuntarily grabbing shrimps the whole time. Katakawan! Hahaha!

Then yesterday, I had a production meeting in Cubao for Mimay's thesis. I don't really know my way around the area, as she had mentioned a particular Starbucks branch. At least I lucked out and found it right away. So anyway, I met with Mimay, her thesis partner AB, Dohna and the rest of the production peeps as they trickled in one by one as time passed. Actually, I wasn't really supposed to be there during the entire meeting, as I'm just the script continuity girl, but at least I got to coordinate with Dohna as to what will happen this weekend.

After we had finally adjourned the meeting, Mimay, Dohna, Asta (sp?) and I had dinner at Butter Diner. Oooh, I love the fifties theme and all the vintage stuff displayed next to the booths. Hahaha, I wanted the jukebox and the phone that was shaped like a red shoe! And they had all-day breakfast, yum! I liked their signature butter, so thank goodness I got lots of it, hahahaha! Then Mimay and I spent a while in Gloria Jeans as she went into drama mode before we called it a night. Labyu, Mims! Kaya mo yan! Pati thesis mo!

I feel that there's something missing. Nah, maybe I'm just brooding. Or whatever. Hahaha, I'm just bored. Waiting for Tad to arrive.

A "baby" rant

I'm supposed to be sleeping in right now.

But no, I got a text message early this morning about certain blog entries. Does this have to happen every [other] year? No, it doesn't. Not if people would respond right away, right? That's why I kept asking, so I can have people's input.

I apologize in advance, but for an artist, there must be something wrong in the communication department. No offense. I'm your friend, a sister even, so I have to tell it like it is. I'm not brooding, if that's what you guys are thinking. I'm just telling you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear.

*anticipating a string of text messages again*
