Was chatting with Lexi (Happy Birthday!) last night and when I brought up the topic of theater and acting...
Lexi: what happend to that stage fright?
Lexi: wala na?
Me: hahaha
Me: stage fright?
Lexi: diba may stage fright ka
Lexi: kaya ka palagi backstage?
Me: hahaha
Me: nah
Me: i don't think i ever encountered stage fright.. takot lang of doing a mediocre performance
I don't think I ever mentioned having stage fright, or even it being the reason of my passion of working backstage in theater.
What is stage fright, really? Sure, I do get intimidated, I don't have that much confidence, but I don't really know the real meaning of stage fright. Is it the fear of having to be in front of people? Is it the same as what I feel; the feeling of pulling off just a so-so performance?
ReplyDeleteStage fright... it's different for everyone... it can be paranoia that you'll forget a lyric, line or a piece of choreography... it can be fear that your costumes will malfunction... or gripping terror of the people for whom you'll be performing... or maybe just fear of failure.
ReplyDeleteThat's it, that's what I have. That's why I'm always afraid to audition.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, heard you met your new best friend, Peachy, hahaha. =)
Yes I did at the Altar Boyz opening, he he! By the way, the show is fun!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to watch it next week then. =)
ReplyDeleteMenchu and I were laughing our heads off!
ReplyDeleteStandouts for me are Red Concepcion and Reb Atadero. They're the ones that made me practically pee in my pants!
I gotta watch na! They seem promising enough at the press conference pa lang, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteWaaah. Ate Hogzzz, Ang weird, mas nakakatakot nga ung audition kesa sa mismong show. :)) Mas okey kasi ung maraming manonood kesa konting nanonood(?) hahahah!! Labooo.
ReplyDeletePS: Sabay tayo watch Altar Boyz!!
Pero pag show, masaya naman, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteAng galing mo nga as Emily Webb eh! hahahaha. :)) hahah
ReplyDeleteAno buh, iba yun no. Recital kasi yun eh. Plus I guess naging comfortable na ko being Emily pagdating ng show.

ReplyDelete*relief* Hahaha, past na si Emily.
ReplyDeletehahaha, you're a great best friend... haha! i'll cheat na din on my height! :p
ReplyDeleteHahaha! When did you ever NOT cheat on your height? You've been wearing platforms since time began. Remember how I made you walk in heels all over Ortigas? Thank goodness college got you to wear sneakers, hehe. =)
ReplyDeleteMiss you, Peach! Hope to see you next weekend!
ReplyDeleteOo nga. =P
ReplyDeleteGoing back to the topic, Peach is someone that doesn't seem to have stage fright. Except during fan mode, hehe.
Pero literally din, walang stage fright, ever since nawala ang takot niya kay Robbie last year, HAHAHAHA!
:)) i know. how ironic. i used to be scared of ALL of robbie's friends, chari, mio. =)) HAHAHA
ReplyDeleteThank you po. :) I hope you get to see the show again. :)
ReplyDeleteGo see the show na, Hogi!
Tamo, yan ang isa pang kind of stage fright, hahaha.

ReplyDeleteaNu ba, Ate hogggs! tigilan mo ko! :))
ReplyDeleteHahaha, Reb has been after Altar Boyz since Avenue Q's first run. You should've seen him all over the lobby. =))
ReplyDeleteTigilan mo rin ako. Magaling ka naman eh. Stage fright, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteWahahahaha! You remembered!!!
ReplyDeleteHmm.. stage fright during an audition is really weird!
ReplyDeleteThere was this one time that I auditioned for our school play (and I found out that the director was really strict o.O), so I decided to be the last person to audition for that day. Turns out I became more paranoid as more people came in the audition area.. I "nearly" lost my voice, I actually forgot parts of the lyrics and spaced out big time.. my god!
It's a good thing that I passed that audition, or else I would have blamed myself for all eternity~ =p
Of course! You kept dancing all around the lobby, hahaha! Plus I think you were the one who came up with that little opening number of the ushers, hehe.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Ano buh, you're a natural kaya!
ReplyDeleteHahaha!.. Ikaw rin! =p
ReplyDeleteDi ko tuloy makalimutan yung Blue Jeans.. =))
Haha, ako rin. Alpha-females tayo eh! =))
ReplyDeleteOh wow... Thanks... Oh my god... wow...
ReplyDeleteHahaha, ayan. If I don't pee in my pants, lagot ka. Hahaha! Kidding. I did get to read a couple of good reviews naman, so I know you guys did great. =)
ReplyDeleteSige, regaluhan kita ng isang timbang ice tea before the show.
