A divide?

"Once that divide appears, it's going to be difficult to cross back over again."

Was watching My Boys on ETC this afternoon and that was one of PJ's last lines in the episode. When detaching one's self from certain friends, how true is that?

What do you think?

  1. I think in general it depends on the situation, on what caused the divide to begin with. Mostly it's true though; once there's a clear conflict of interest or what-have-you between people, it becomes hard for things to 'go back to normal', whatever normal is/was.

(Did that make sense? Sorry, I just woke up. Haha.)

  2. It's hard answer this without citing "case studies" and I don't want to mention anything personal lest I get in trouble again. WAHAHAHAHA!

But generally, yes. I do think it's difficult to cross back over. It's the degree of difficulty that varies depending on the circumstances of the rift, the personalities of the people involved, and the willingness (readiness?) of the "crosser" to cross back.

  3. I'd say yes.

Forgiveness and new beginnings is one thing but Trust in someone who has crossed you is hardly ever regained.
