Friday night randomness

Nothing much. Just thinking.

For some reason that I can't really pinpoint, I get annoyed at this person. I really have no idea why. That person had done nothing wrong anyway. Ever get that feeling about a person, that when you just look at him or her, or even just something about him or her, it just irks you out of your mind? Oh well.

Anyway.

While I was sort of vegging out in front of my computer this evening, my phone started ringing. It just displayed a phone number without any name. I thought about not answering it, but I thought better of myself.

It was Reiner, one of my closest and oldest friends from YFC-CSB. He had restored his old phone number and was calling old friends the whole night. My golly, it was so great to hear from him again, as the last time we saw each other and talked was about 3 years ago. We talked for a full half hour, trying to catch up since the time we lost touch. Haha, he found out that at least a couple of our friends are getting married as well, and some have been in and out of the country.

"Getting in touch is hard. It's embarrassing, really. Especially when you find out that people are leaving and stuff when you just got in touch with them."

I totally agree. Getting in touch and staying in touch is hard. And to think I'm the kind of person who gets really clingy with friends. Even though I may say that I'm used to detachment, it really stings when you don't get to see those very close friends as often as before. And even more, when you see each other again and realize that you have nothing in common anymore.

It was great talking to Rein like old times. He was one of the rare few in the group that I can easily talk to about anything, from the most mundane topics, to whatever concerns I have regarding my heart, my mind, and my faith.

On to a lighter story. I am not going to leave this out, hahaha.

I was chatting with Zee, Dyown and Micah early this afternoon, and Dyown had the funniest story to tell that I was laughing out loud in front of my computer, ALONE.

Zee: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Dyown: tapos nagreklamo ako sa manager. (syempre, "may i talk to your manager" ang drama. hahaha).
Micah: hahahaha
Zee: Dapat nagreklamo ka
Hogi: hahahaha
Dyown: nakakatawa, kasi pinalitan lang nila ng bagong iced tea and as a courtesy binigyan ako ng dyaryo!!! i mean, ANONG KONEKSYON?!!!!! nakakaloka tlaga.
Zee: WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hogi: OO NGA
Dyown: parang ako na lang yung, "ah okey. salamat.". pero gusto kong itanong sa sarili ko, "bakit may dyaryo?!" hahahahah.
Micah: diba, libre yung newspaper dun??
Dyown: SABAW din yung manager. hahaha
Hogi: pag mornings, libre
Micah: ahh
Micah: hahah
Micah: itaob mo sila!!!!
Hogi: pero pwedeng monologue yang kwento mo ah
Dyown: hahaha. gusto ko nga sana itaob eh.
Dyown: oo, hogi.. grabeh yun. gawan mo ng kwento. tapos copyright natin. hahaha
Hogi: langya, sabaw moment
Micah: hahaha
Dyown: hindi ko talaga ma-imagine. parang pagkabigay ng bagong iced tea sa'kin nong crew. yung manager lumapit, tapos nag-sorry tapos binigay yung dyaryo. hahahaha.
Hogi: hahaha, anong klaseng sorry yan
Zee: WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Dyown: hahaha. sana man lang, isang HAMBURGER ang ibinigay nila, di ba?
Zee: Ang ganda pangshort film
Hogi: korek!
Zee: HAHAH I can imagine
Dyown: oo, nga,,, kahit man lang isang Sundae cone. pero DYARYO??? manila bulletin???? ewan!!!
Zee: Labo!
Zee: look at the bright side mare

Hahaha, sorry Dyown, I just had to blog about this. It's funny enough already just reading your story on YM. What more if you told it in person, HAHAHAHA!

Trip to UP for Orosman at Zafira

Last Wednesday evening, I got a text message from my friend Eika (whose new number didn't register on my phone) saying that she has complimentary tickets to Orosman at Zafira's Thursday evening show. I was dying to watch that show, so I asked Eika how many tickets she was willing to allot for me. At the same time, I was texting Tad if he wanted to watch it.

Tad wasn't replying yet, as he probably didn't have any more credits in his phone, but Eika had said that I can have up to 6 tickets. Then I suddenly got a text from Tara, also asking if I was doing anything yet the following night. Since Tad hadn't replied yet, I said I wasn't doing anything yet. As it turned out, she and Martha were planning to go to The Dawn's gig at Greenbelt 2 that night. I considered it for a while, specially because of the fact that it was a closer venue than UP.

Tad and I ended up going to UP instead of Greenbelt, with Chrome and Riki, and I managed to grab extra tickets for Mimay and Asta, because I owe Mimay her thesis film's dope sheet. We decided, hey, Orosman at Zafira's only running for a short period of time. The Dawn's part of EJ anyway, so we get to see them a lot. Haha, Tara ended up joining us, as Martha decided to watch Romance in D with Nicco (whom I also texted if he wanted to watch Orosman, but was already set to go to the Rep show) and a bunch of others.

Decided to meet with the group at Quezon Avenue's MRT station. It took half an hour, so I spent the time devouring what the station's food stalls can offer, hahaha! I got a couple of waffle dogs, a hot dog sandwich, and some kikiam. Hey, we don't have to spend much to fill up our stomach, hahaha.

The show was great! They've got an amazing cast, and they even got a powerful ensemble. My favorite were the stylized fight scenes which were so well choreographed. Heck, if they did choreograph a real fight scene on that stage with that many people, it would look crazy and too "staged". And unfortunately for the leads, because the koro was equally good, they got drowned out whenever the ensemble was onstage. Only two lead actors, Roeder and Judith, managed to stand out. Ahehe, I have to admit, it was my first time to watch Felix and Red in a play that's purely Filipino, and to think that this is a play by THE Francisco Baltazar. Hehe, our first comment before the show began was that the stage design looked familiar, as Tuxqs had designed it. It reminded Tara, Tad and I of his set design of last season's The Pretenders.

It was great to see a lot of people again. Henry and Sir Jed were also there and sat with us. RJ also came to watch, and Jo-an was there with some guy friends. Sir Dennis also came to watch the show (Mara was in the ensemble, by the by). I also saw a bunch of people from Trumpets to support Red. It was nice to see June Vee again, and little Sam was not-so-little Sam now ever since he bloomed after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and his Little Big Star days (yes, it's been ages since we personally saw each other).

Now that was a good show worth watching despite how far I had to travel, hahahaha! (Parang probinsiya ang layo para sa akin, hahaha!) Thanks to Eika for the tickets!

Chika lang about the one who got Hired

I remember getting a text message from Ria years ago about recommending me to be an assistant teacher for Trumpets Playshop. I was so grateful for her for that experience, as I had learned a lot as well from my students, no matter how pasaway they can be.

I got several text messages sometime this month (or was it last month?) about the new May Trabaho Ka thing, now called Hired, and they were looking for a summer workshop teacher. Hahaha, even though I was quite curious and it was in my line of interest, no way was I going to go on national television for some reality show. I sent a message to a handful of friends, and only one had replied to ask how to go about it.

A lot of good came to that one friend who replied. Congratulations to Leslie Ledesma for being the new Theater Summer Workshop teacher for Trumpets Playshop! Woohoo!

I told you na chika lang ito, hahaha.

Backlog: EJ weekend

Backlog, hahaha.

Saw EJ twice this past weekend. I hadn't seen a "real" show before that, hahaha. I was supposed to watch on Friday, because it was the first Jett/Ricky show, but I wasn't feeling well, so I decided to pass.

Iam and Ge had decided to watch on Saturday evening, so I went to CCP to watch with them. Arrived during the matinee show, and killed time hanging out with Paulo and Opa in the conference room while Pau played the piano, with pieces ranging from classical and baroque to Broadway and pop, hahaha.

After the matinee, I went with Opa, Nicco, Russ and Olive to Yolanda's to eat, and I just listened to them ramble on about various things. Hahaha, yeah, just that. I have to admit, I sort of felt out of place. But hey, I was just killing time, anyway. It's better to have company, hahaha.

But here's some good news. Nicco plans to finally turn Kopihaus # 8 into a play! Good luck with that, baby bro!

Snuck inside the dressing room for a while to say hello to Tad and to borrow his jacket, ahehehe. Found him conked out in one corner of the room, taking a nap. Aw, poor dear was tired and lacking sleep. Sorry I woke you. Anyway, when I returned to the lobby, there was quite a number of them bumming around on the carpet. Aside from Nicco, Opa, Russ and Olive, there was also Anna and Jen, then Kat, Jerald and even Tatang was there. Hahaha, a lot of people came for the freebie! I even saw Mikki with Shing and Max.

Iam and Ge arrived 3 minutes before the show started. Hahaha, OK, I couldn't help but laugh out loud when Iam had asked if the play was based on a true story. O_o Hahaha! What kind of 80's babies were we?

I have to admit, the play wasn't really all that consistent. The play was initially written as a straight play, not a musical, so it was quite an effort as to where the songs could possibly be slipped in. Jun Yango was the narrator for most parts, but then suddenly the characters of Precious Javier and Joy Jopson and even others also narrate, specially in the 2nd and 3rd act. I think the only consistence I found were the mannerisms of some of the ensemble actors, which isn't really much of a good thing.

OK, before anyone would start reacting violently, I don't really have to put a disclaimer that this is just a matter of opinion, as this is a personal blog, right?

After the show, Iam, Ge and I had dinner at Dencio's, as Iam had a craving for sabaw, and upon hearing the name of the alternate band that played, we also ordered sisig, hehe. Tad didn't get to join us because he was tired enough as it is (plus he was a little upset that he might be removed in one scene), so I had to keep his jacket for the night.

Rosa didn't get to watch that night because it was Trina's wedding, so she decided to watch on Sunday. Met up with her at Pancake House for an early dinner as she retold me the events of the wedding, including photo that she recreated (that I plan to recreate as well later this afternoon, hahaha).

After eating, I decided to drop by the dressing room to drop off Tad's jacket along with a couple of bottles of Gatorade. But I didn't find him anywhere, so I texted him that I left his jacket plus a little something in their dressing room. As it turned out, he was pretty much upset about being removed in a couple of scenes without any explanation, but maybe because he was told that he stood out too much in the crowd. I didn't quite understand why it had to be done as well, but there's nothing we can do with the decision of the powers that be. Aw.

Then we moved to Starbucks and settled on my favorite corner. Interesting talk, and was that Nicco's name I keep hearing at the next table? Hahaha, Nar, Martha and Kat happened to be there, and Nar had asked me how Nicco was. Weird, why ask me when I hardly get to see him anymore? Uy, Nicco, pinag-uusapan ka nila oh, hahaha.

Iam and Ge got to watch Riki and Juliene as EdJop and Evelio respectively, while Rosa got to watch Ricky as the latter. Haha, saw those crazy mannerisms again. One was doing the "Lea Salonga" look (that Pam had once demonstrated). Another was as stiff as a board. The other looked like Droopy. Sitting next to Mailes, we were both chuckling at some funny nuances and other stuff, that Anna had even captured on camera.

Haha, after the show, when the crowd had thinned out, Rosa had managed to find the place where I could recreate that photo she had mentioned at Pancake House. Hopefully I'll remember later.

Mini-reunion with some JATD-slash-CLOKWorx friends

The subject title was either that or "Andrei's Coffee Cup, Episode 3." Ew, nah, that sounds kind of corny, haha.

I got a text the night before from Nikki, asking if a bunch of us could meet up at ATC with Ferson for lunch. Had prior commitments due to the plain fact that it was a Monday even though it was a holiday. Then when plans had changed, I called Nix when I woke up and decided that we still meet up. Ferson was going to catch up, as he and his sister Cecile were dorm-hunting. Texted Drei, as he was always in the mood for hanging out, and said he'll catch up as well.

Nix arrived an hour later than our agreed time (hahaha), then headed to Cibo for some pizza and pasta fix. Good food and crazy conversations, but hey, at least I picked up a few good tips, hahaha! Then we just went around the mall, window-shopped, and when we reached the 3rd level of the mall, Nikki decided to inquire about having photos taken at Picture Company.

While we were still standing outside the shop as Nikki checked out the pop-art photo concept that PC had, I noticed that the girl at the counter looked pretty familiar, then I dismissed it. Then Nikki decided to go inside to ask about the photos, and we got to talk to one of the girls who entertained us for a while, then left almost immediately. Hahaha, Nikki had this curious question about a friend of her ex, but was too shy to ask, so I turned to the familiar-looking girl and asked for her. Retired, she said, in this high-pitched kolehiyala voice that I hear from almost every girl I see in this part of town, most specifically in this mall. (My high school friends and I have this theory that only kids from Alabang acquire this particular speech pattern and accent.) Anyway, I suddenly realized that the "counter girl" was one of the chorus orphan kids that I used to hang out with during the old days of Oliver, hahaha! I remember that we even sometimes used to eat lunch together with our mixed crowd during Saturday rehearsals, when we had the entire school to ourselves.

Aw, I suddenly missed those days. I remember that I looked up to Marnie Arcilla as a role-model, because I was a newbie to the theater world. I was intimidated by her, even though I've heard about her all throughout my grade school days because she was a friend of my brother's. I also remembered being cursed at by the infamous Tony Espejo (as he yelled using a microphone) along with a small group of kids during one scene.

Okay, that's enough reminiscing.

Anyway, after that, I introduced Nikki to the dance machine that Drei and I got addicted to in that particular Timezone branch. Hehehe. Then we finally met up with Ferson (with sister Cecile in tow), and we got to chat a little at Food Choices before they had to leave about an hour after they had arrived. Apparently, Ferson had texted almost everyone from their workshop class from 4 years ago, and from JATD and CLOKWorx as well. So we gave him a little update on a few of the people he had asked about. Tough to keep in touch with them lately. *sigh*

Iam and Ge happened to be there as well, on the search for pichi-pichi for her mom and her mom's friends. Their quest ended when they found this stall conveniently next to the table we were sitting at, hahahaha!

After saying goodbye to Iam and Ge, Nix and I went straight to Starbucks, as Drei had texted that he was already nearing ATC. Hahaha, one of Drei's first greetings to Nikki was "Welcome to my show." Whee, his sitcom acquired a new guest star! Chitchat here and there over coffee, and even recalled the crazy Joseph days.

All together now. "Oh no! Not he! How you can accuse him is a mystery! ... La-la-la-la la la la-la..." HAHAHAHA! Nikki's improvised dance steps in "One More Angel." Wahehehe.

Then I challenged Drei to a rematch on that darn dance machine. Best out of 3 rounds. We were tied after the second round, but I lost to Drei by the 3rd. But hey, at least I can now do the faster songs, yay! Hahaha, I was sweating like crazy because of those "mini-games" that help equalize the match.

I missed these people. Hope I get to see more of them next month, as we had already set a date to meet. I'm so grateful for friends like Nix, Drei and Son who manage to stay despite hassles of time and distance. I love you, guys.

It's the 26th. Exactly a couple of years ago, one out of some crazy ideas was born over coffee. Defunct? Both of you are keepers, rare gems in my treasure trove of precious friends. Well, it's up to you guys to decide on that. But even though we can't really turn back time, I just miss the way things used to be. Nah, maybe I'm just getting too sentimental.

More importantly, it's the 5th month, teeheehee. =)

Watching Last Order sa Penguin, and shoot of Ikalawang Tagpo and Hubad

Slept until 1pm, and I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep. These past few days had gone by with getting much zzz's. Time for a long update. Good luck to those who plan to read this, hahaha.

Didn't watch EJ's opening night last Friday, as I had promised Ola and Opa that I'd watch Last Order sa Penguin that night... all the way at Kublai's in Katipunan! Hahaha, superfriend mode, as I went there alone to watch. Was supposed to meet with Maika somewhere in the area, but she wasn't replying, so I met up with Ria. Late lunch at McDo and killed time at Starbucks before we headed for the venue, where we killed even more time.

Sat with Ria T and her friend during the show. Hahaha, I finally got to watch the play after reading the book several times already. I still can't get over that jologs monolgue, one of my favorites. My golly, Ola, napagod ako para sa iyo during Act 1 as Sang, because her character never talked during the entire act, and just hung on to Nicco's arm (who played Mario) and laughed along with the rest of the cast. Speaking of which, Mario's monologue is the one part I didn't really get to appreciate much of (Sorry, Tuxqs), because whenever the party people entered, they made to much noise for Nicco to be understood, and their movements were quite distracting. Well, but maybe that's the whole point of it? And it was a nice touch when Edwin kept trying to check out Sang right on until their goodbyes, hahaha. And I just love Sweet's character! He's one of my favorites (other than the biased ones, hahaha).

Congrats, baby bro! Even though this is the 3rd time you played a druggie, hahaha.

Late Saturday morning, Tad and I first went to DLSU for a reading of a film thesis, then headed to CCP after lunch. Bummed around until he had to go to the LT dressing room to get ready for EJ's matinee, then I headed to the lobby to hang out at the front-of-house. Hehehe, I got to watch the first act (with Riki opening as EdJop) before going to GSP to meet with Mimay for a rehearsal of her thesis.

Evening was spent in the GSP theater with Mimay, Jenny, Dohna, Ayn and Asta. Load-in of the couch and Asta fixed the curtains to get ready for an early set up in the morning, then Mimay, Dohna and I blocked Jenny's scenes with me standing in for Sir Noel.

Slept over at Mimay's, then woke up at around 3:45 in the morning to get ready, as Dohna was picking us up at Jollibee. When we arrived at GSP, the PD team still had to set up, so I managed to take a little power nap as they did so.

I lost track of time when we started shooting, because the words "time check" became more like a quip than a real time check, hahaha. Jenny was pretty much a dream to work with, as she easily nailed almost every scene.

Jenny: Ayoko nang maging artista. Gusto ko na lang maging scientist.
HAHAHAHA!

Jenny was so quotable. Her "magaling, magaling" quote was a favorite of Dohna's and mine, wahehehe.

Sir Noel arrived after lunch, and we helped him with his blocking before we started shooting right away. Hahaha, ano ba ako, script continuity or stage manager? 2nd AD naman daw, sabi ni Dohna, hahaha! Nyak.

Thank goodness there was sponsored junk food, and the company of good friends. Otherwise, I wouldn't have enjoyed the shoot. Thank you, chocolate mallows, hahaha.

Just like to thank Sir Noel Trinidad for being part of Mimay's and Aby's thesis, and to Joel (of course, for the contact of his dad), and to Tito Mario O'Hara for the recommendation.

We were super delayed, as we had finished shooting 2 hours later than what was scheduled. We quickly had our late dinner, packed up, and headed to Paranaque to Carmela's house for the 2nd part of the shoot.

Got kinda lost in the script continuity the entire time at Carmi's house, because they just started shooting without any ID's. Oh well. When we were finally done at 4 in the morning, I quickly tried to take another power nap in the room where Jenny and Carmi were as the people started packing up and putting all the furniture back where they were before. By the time everyone was ready to go, I decided to get dropped off as they exit the service road and I can just grab a bus. Then a last minute decision, I ended up staying at Carmi's and sleep, so I can have a safer trip home when the sun's up.

By the time I woke up and got ready to leave, Carmi was still asleep, so I just sent her a text message that I was leaving, and let myself out. Had the mistake of boarding a jeep headed to Alabang along the service road, so it took me an uber-long time to get home. When I arrived home, I just had a quick lunch, fixed my stuff, took a bath, then headed out the door for some quality time with Tad before we went to Penguin in the evening for the Hubad shoot.

By the time we arrived at Penguin at exactly 6pm, Chrome was the only one from AC there, sitting with Ms Tess and Ms Denisa. Grabbed some food while we waited for the others. Yay, free food and drinks, hahaha!

The rest of the AC started trickling in, and Ms Denisa started casting a few of them (Tad, Chrome, Marj and Tara) to be in a scene with Sir Nonie as the rest of us just hung around. Hahaha, Tara as Lolita, the waitress with an attitude. Kinarir ang pagiging waitress. As we waited, Anna was talking to Nicco about getting him as Nanic's prom date, hahaha! Back to high school for Nicco, as we hyped him up for it (hehe, Nanic has had a crush on him ever since she saw her in Palanca on My Mind). Then the conversation shifted to uhm, dating in particular, as Kat and Jen got curious, so did I, hahaha.

When it was time for Mike Unson's stand-up comedy routine, there we go. There was the actors' table, and there was Tanghalang Pilipino's table, hahaha. Almost all girls (Anna, Jen, Kat, Martha and me), except for Nicco and CJ, with Jerald at the bar. More drinks were served, yahoo.

My golly, I just have to say this, I didn't notice until later that it was Peque Gallaga sitting at the next table. Hahahaha! Oh my oh my oh my. My being starstruck got delayed as we were all minding our own business, specially when there's food and drinks involved.

More waiting, more food, more drinking. Got to talk to CJ about the lifespan of music careers (hahaha), and John-john showed his card trick prowess. More talk of "The Secret" from Jerald. And more chicken wings to chow on, hahahahaha!

Nar had brought his guitar with him, because one scene involved scat-raps of TP. Yes, their infamous improv singing, hahaha. We did one rehearsal, and even though it went pretty well, the song wasn't about the subject, hahahaha! TP was divided into 3 groups, and Nicco, Wenah, Russ and I were then dubbed as the "pillow people" because we had to stay with the big pillows, ahehe. And Russ just had to ask permission from Tad to hold my hand as we entered, hahaha! Then dancing time! But I just had to make a French exit from out of the frame along with the rest of the pillow people, hahaha! Dirty dancing daw eh! I don't even dance, I just move to the beat, hahahaha.

Stayed inside until Sir Dennis' entrance in the scene, then they got some coverage of the band (Radioactive Sago Project?). We were allowed to leave then, and as we started saying our goodbyes, Peque Gallaga approached each of us and shook our hands, thanking us. Holy kamote, more starstruck moments as I shook THE Peque Gallaga's hand. Huwaw.

Now I'm sleepy again. Want to catch up on more sleep, but when I lie down, I'm not sleepy anymore. Arg.

Wahahaha, my browser hung for a while, and because I hadn't saved this entry, I thought I lost it for good. And to think this is long enough already. *relief* Lesson learned. Copy, paste.

And to those who had managed to read this entire thing, I salute you, hahahaha!

Okayyy... another meme from all over

I haven't had any sleep in at least 48 hours. But I can't resist.

Got this from Ria.

If you read this journal, even if I don't speak to you often, post a memory of me.

It can be anything you want.

It can be good or bad, just so long as it happened.

Then post this on your journal too!

Be surprised (or not) about what people remember about you. :)

Time to catch up on some well deserved sleep. Will blog again later when I wake up.

Twisted Valentine

I had always thought, due to past experiences, that Valentine's Day is one of the most unlucky days of the year for me. So I decided not to join all the overrated hype of Valentine's Day.

I dropped by CCP in the afternoon so I can spend at least one hour with Tad in between their rehearsals. Just a quick dinner, then I tagged along with him to the Little Theater. There was a flurry of activity going on in one of the dressing rooms as the costumes were just being distributed. After Tad got his stuff, I took a seat in the house as he had to rehearse one of his songs again. Then I told him that I'll step out for a while, and maybe drop by Dencio's where Sugus and Jerald were hanging out, as they had invited some of the people to join them for a beer or two.

Since there wasn't really much to do in the LT, I headed over to Dencio's to join the guys. As it turned out, no one else could join them. After I finally settled on a drink, we suddenly got into this conversation on "The Secret", as it had become Je's bible since he first started reading it and realized that it really works. Then Sugus started comparing it with "Conversations With God", as it had a lot of similarities with the other book. As for me, I just listened to each guy's points, as they were both right. Simply put, it's just a matter of becoming more optimistic. I had this nonchalant look on my face half the time, but I was still intrigued about "The Secret" (thanks to Ola and Nicco for raising my curiousity) and I'm still debating with myself whether I should buy myself a copy or not.

Well, it wasn't really all that profound the whole time, knowing that this is Sugus and Jerald we're talking about here (HAHAHA). Kidding, guys.

Sometime past 8 o'clock, Sugus had to leave, so after ordering a couple more drinks for me (Je still had about 4 San Migs in the bucket that they had ordered earlier) and a ginormous serving of crispy pata, he paid for everything. Yay, thanks, Sugus! Well, I never say no to free food, so Je and I got 1 order of rice to share, and dug into the crispy pata.

Despite the many pregnant pauses while the two of us were sitting there, I realized that it wasn't awkward anymore. Sure, I had noticed it before last year, but I just noticed it again this evening because of all the silence I had noted in between talks. But I just have to say, panalo ang tanong na ito: "How did you manage to get over me?" HAHAHAHA! Close talaga tayo, pare!

After consuming most of our drinks (hey, I finished mine. Je gave up on his, hahaha), we both decided to call it a night. Je left CCP as I headed back to LT to watch the remaining scenes of the EJ rehearsal. Managed to catch most of Act 2 by the time I had settled in my seat behind Riki, Wenah and Ate Bheng.

Hmm... I wonder if the cast is ready for tomorrow's opening night?

Tad was uber-tired by the time their run had ended, and I guess I don't blame him for taking his anger and fatigue out on me. *sigh* I told you, valentine or no valentine, the occasion is one of my unlucky days of the year, hahaha.

But the conversation we had tonight really made up for it. Thanks, love. Happy Valentine's Day. =)

Crazy meme... Got this from Pammu

... So now I have to pay the price, hahahaha! Just kidding. Anyway, here we go.

If you leave a comment...

1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.

P.S. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal.

On the Gossip Girl TV series

A lot people have been watching Gossip Girl since it first aired, and half the people I know had already downloaded all its episodes so far. I never really got around to downloading the series, plus the fact that I'm still on slow dial-up (hahaha), so I only got to watch its first episode yesterday when it aired on ETC.

I was a big fan of the book series, so I have to admit that I was pretty excited about finally watching it. But I guess I had a lot of expectations, so I was kind of disappointed at what I saw. Hahaha. No offense, they did make some pretty good new twists to some of the characters' storylines, but I guess I still prefer the book series. Dan and Jenny's dad is in a rock band instead of a beat poet? Serena brother Eric is actually younger than her and is in an institution instead of being the older one in college? Chuck and Blair have a little love affair? But it's pretty interesting to see that they made a little twist between Lily Van der Woodsen and Rufus Humphrey.  Well, don't knock it 'til you've tried it. Maybe I'll watch a few more episodes. Who knows, it's kind of refreshing as well.

Ignore me, I'm bored, hahaha.

Found an old entry of Maika's (ooh, shoutout)

This is what I get for trying to google myself out of boredom... at 2 in the morning! Hahaha, I was trying to get myself sleepy so I'm still letting the time pass.

So anyway, I googled my name, and found a super old entry in one of Maika's old blogs. What I came across was a huge sentimental post, remembering all the old friends that came our way, and hardly get in touch with ever since we separated paths and left that crazy world of uhm, groupies.

Naiyak nanaman ako sa sinulat ni Maix about me. I was actually surprised at how much she wrote about me, recalling all those crazy memories.

http://littlelady.tabulas.com/2004/04/25/@243715/

Hogi: is my cousin.  hehehe. Don't ask why na lang. "HUWAW!"
1st palanca: " Funny how 4 guys with such passion for music and a forum can bring strangers together and be great friends. This is just the beginning, Maika dear, so let's cherish ever moment."
2nd palanca: "This isn't about music anymore."
"One chapter in both our lives has ended. You're graduating from high school and entering college; and I'm moving on to explore more things outside the environment where you and I had met." -> this actually made me cry. No joke.
Hogi became my bestfriend during my last year in High school (she doesn’t know that). If she didn't meet me sa Kenny, things would surely be different. She says, I am the sister she never wanted...este she never had.  Hogi is my all time partner. We'd hang around after classes...until it became a part of our daily lives. She'd visit me when I'm sick...or go with me anywhere I need to go. She's surely a text away. We love Mcdo so much that we can eat there every day...na kahit nasa glorietta na, mcdo pa rin. She was my bridge...the person who connected me to Nyoy for hundred times. She knows who Maika is talaga...both Mikmik and Mikay.  We share everything...parang we live under one roof na nga eh. What’s funny is…I know something about her.  hahaha. Joke lang!  She's the reason why before I hated THURSDAYS and swore I wouldn't go out on Thursdays.(but di na ngayon) We'd go to rob place and once tricked Marlo and got our free lunch. We'd go to Harrison and fool around...even look for school stuffs for the next school year. Wahaha. She saw me cry, saw my eyes really swollen from crying, saw me ERASE the folder I never wanted to erase. She always tells me that I'm a strong person...but that’s because she helped me be one.  Haha. I remember na she wanted to move into a new world...and mamaya kasunod na kami ni Kristel. We'd play with tapas (my coin bank), pug (the pug stuff toy my crushee gave me) lil pug (the pug mj gave me) my froggy prince (who says 'I love you'), sharkieh (my keychain) and paupies (the P99.00 lil dog at Watsons) We'll watch the sun go down from the window sa dorm ko...and went around CCP to wait for the sun to go down. We'll solve mysteries for other people and help them as much as we could. I forgot the word she usually says and she acquired my "Heehee..waheehee" I forgot that word she usually says na nakuha ko din.  And most of all, Hogi is the reason why I met my Kuya Paulo…Robi was my 1st crush and then Dj Myke...and I don’t know how I ended up admiring Paulo.  Ohh. I remember telling hogi, "sana sa bday ko kasing saya din ako ni kristel (my dorm mate)" kasi I called up kuya nyoy and mannos to greet my dormie and Hogi called her up so she can talk to PauloNav. I quote kristel "Bongga ka talaga maix" If Lyn was my fairy GodMother, Hogi is my Santa Claus. During the Akafellas' gig sa DLSU, she chose Paulo over Robi for the free ride home so she could call me up and have me talk to Paulo (although...hehehe. *grins*). I can't wait for my next Palanca.  hehehe. I could go on but then baka maging nobela na talaga yung post ko. Hogi, my long lost sister.

Huwaw, senti.

Hahaha, I couldn't help but laugh when I read the part about McDo. And to think that the last time we hung out was in McDo... all the way in Katipuan (right after I had stormed out of a room in desperate need to avoid someone).

Hope we can get together again soon. Nasan na ang mga ibang MagaGANGda? I miss you guys!

Another weekend went by

Last Saturday, Rosa managed to drag me along with her as she looks for the perfect dress to wear to Trina's wedding. Hahaha. She told me that it's been pretty hard to catch me before, but since this year started, I've been easy to get a hold of.

Met up at South Mall after lunch, and found her browsing in the department store. We checked out these dresses in Sari-Sari, and we found just one in the right color. It was pretty nice, but the off-shoulder sleeves somewhat made her arms a little restricted. Well, we did say that the less movement that she does, the more ladylike she'll move, hahahaha!

Then off we went to Mall of Asia, so we have more stores to check out. First looked at the department store, and she even tried out this dress that looked... well, no offense, Rosa, it did look like a potato sack on you. Rawr, those tall and skinny mannequins get all the luck. Tried our luck in the other stores, and even managed to check out The World of Feng Shui, because Rosa was looking a particular item. Was it the gold coins or something else? Hahaha, I couldn't help but laugh when she told the story about her mom saying that the bowl they put the purchases in was magical, when it's really just a matter of acoustics.

Favorite statement shirt of the day: "I [can still] make cute babies."
HAHAHAHA!

At around 5, we headed off to Sis in Dampa Macapagal to meet with Tita Lita and Tito Romy. Yahooo, seafood party again. And this time with tempura, alright! Hahaha, after a while, I realized that I was already involuntarily grabbing shrimps the whole time. Katakawan! Hahaha!

Then yesterday, I had a production meeting in Cubao for Mimay's thesis. I don't really know my way around the area, as she had mentioned a particular Starbucks branch. At least I lucked out and found it right away. So anyway, I met with Mimay, her thesis partner AB, Dohna and the rest of the production peeps as they trickled in one by one as time passed. Actually, I wasn't really supposed to be there during the entire meeting, as I'm just the script continuity girl, but at least I got to coordinate with Dohna as to what will happen this weekend.

After we had finally adjourned the meeting, Mimay, Dohna, Asta (sp?) and I had dinner at Butter Diner. Oooh, I love the fifties theme and all the vintage stuff displayed next to the booths. Hahaha, I wanted the jukebox and the phone that was shaped like a red shoe! And they had all-day breakfast, yum! I liked their signature butter, so thank goodness I got lots of it, hahahaha! Then Mimay and I spent a while in Gloria Jeans as she went into drama mode before we called it a night. Labyu, Mims! Kaya mo yan! Pati thesis mo!

I feel that there's something missing. Nah, maybe I'm just brooding. Or whatever. Hahaha, I'm just bored. Waiting for Tad to arrive.

A "baby" rant

I'm supposed to be sleeping in right now.

But no, I got a text message early this morning about certain blog entries. Does this have to happen every [other] year? No, it doesn't. Not if people would respond right away, right? That's why I kept asking, so I can have people's input.

I apologize in advance, but for an artist, there must be something wrong in the communication department. No offense. I'm your friend, a sister even, so I have to tell it like it is. I'm not brooding, if that's what you guys are thinking. I'm just telling you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear.

*anticipating a string of text messages again*

Looking back at old blogs

I was transferring an old blog to a new account earlier this evening, and I had the pleasure of looking back at some pretty amusing entries.

Then I tried looking at posts from February of last year, and even the years before and had a blast taking a trip down memory lane. I remembered hanging out at AKU practically every evening back in 2004, ordering bottomless iced tea with my dinner before enduring a long bus ride home. I remembered playing hooky from a Beauty and the Beast rehearsal just so Nicco, Drei, Miko and Misch and I can watch 'Yun Na Nga, Kung 'Yun na Nga in CCP back in 2005 and was suddenly starving from hunger after watching the actors eat onstage. I remembered pondering about taking acting workshops again back in 2006, and kept thinking about it and eventually signed up at the last minute. Then I remembered being such a drama queen last year, and laughed at myself.

That's my favorite about about reading my old entries again. I look back and smile at all the good memories, despite all the changes between me and those people that came me way. And when I look back at all the bad memories, I still smile because I managed to live through it.

Now I just wonder how those people who were with me then. Falling out of touch can't be helped, I guess. How are you guys?

An afternoon like the good old days

I got to spend yesterday afternoon in ATC with Drei, as we were both bored out of our minds. Plus he needed to vent out a little frustration, hahaha. What's new, among our little triumvirate, I was always the one listening while he and Nicco did the talking.

It was the usual routine back when we used to hang out before. After walking for a while and figuring out what to do, we ended up at the cinemas, and watched The Mist. Even though I'm such a coward, and we even dubbed ourselves "the Prune Gang" before because all of us just curled up in our seats in fear during really scary movies, we just decided to watch this supposedly good suspense thriller of a movie. Before the movie began, we asked each other, "Did you read the book?" Nope. Okay.

Argh, it was O-kay. The only frustrating part of it was the ending. Argh. Double argh. The lead character was just moments away from a good thing when he blew everything to pieces. Oh well.

So Drei and I decided to drown our frustrations somewhere else. Obviously, Timezone, hahaha. I had a go at Percussion Master (hard mode, baby!), and I liked this machine better than the one in Glorietta because you can play 3 songs instead of just 2, hehe. We walked around the area when we saw this new game just near the Deal or No Deal machine. It looked somewhat like Dance Dance Revolution, but it looked more like a kiddie game because the playing area only had 3 spots all next to each other to step on. What was the game called? Dance 86.4 Funky Radio Station. Hahahaha! So I decided to give it a go. I'm all for obscure games that hardly anyone plays. It was actually fun! So I made another go for it, this time with Drei. And at the end of both songs, there was a mini-game so whoever lost among either of the two can get more points. Stomp away! Hahahaha! It was so hilarious that we played a couple more rounds. And one of the songs was actually the theme song of Sailor Moon!

Hahaha, that game put our minds off The Mist's lousy ending for a while.

We then retreated to Starbucks and talked. First off was what was bugging Drei after ranting to me the night before. Then we segued and talked about his "Joey" moments, and how I also had one of those moments. Missing the old crowd. How everyone else is now. All that stuff. Even though all of us are happy with our own lives, I also do miss the good old days.

Oh well. That's life.

To add to that, I had to come home and listen to... well, that. But I guess that's also life. You know I love you, love.

Meeting Rosa tomorrow to help her shop for a dress to wear to Trina's wedding. Maybe I can find a little something for myself as well, hehehe.

We'll miss you, Bro. Felix

Bro. Felix Masson, FSC, had passed away last February 5th, 2008. May his soul rest in peace.

I had already met Bro. Felix during my first year in De La Salle Zobel, back when I was in junior prep. I knew him all throughout my years in that school, right on until I had graduated from high school. He seemed to know everyone's name, and most especially, everyone's birthdays. It seemed like you wouldn't have the complete Zobel experience back then, if you weren't called to Bro. Felix's office every year on the day of your birthday (if not the day before). Going to his office was one of my favorite excuses to get out of class even just for a while. There would be the usual chit-chat, from small talk to whatever you can think of under the sun. The years after my uncle had resigned from his principal post, Bro. Felix would always ask how my uncle was doing, as well as my aunt. Then of course, at the end of our conversations, he would then let me pick a stampita (those little card photos of saints that would sometimes have short prayers written in the back) of my choice as a birthday gift. Iam had written in her blog that she would always pick those shimmery gold cards. I had a theme myself, being a December baby, and would always look for the card with the best illustration of the Nativity.

It seems that Bro. Felix's office table looked the same. There would always be the stampitas facing you, carefully arranged to give you a good view of all of them. On his side of the table, there would always be his planner, opened to your birthdate, with your name scribbled on it.

Of course, aside from the annual birthday visit, some of my friends and I would still come by his office during recess and lunch breaks, playing Triominoes. Hahaha, we would always stifle our laughs to small chuckles because of the way he would always say "BAH-likTAD." Then whenever we would cross each other's paths in the corridors, he would always try to crack a joke. In junior year, he kept saying, "Look what beautiful seniors we'll have next year... if you don't come back, Miss CAD-luhm." He always seems to have a standard joke for a particular person or group of people, hahaha.

We believed he was immortal, because it seemed that he would always grace the halls of Zobel. Yes, he is immortal, specially here in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Bro. Felix. We'll surely miss you.

Jabber 1 and 3

I doubt that anyone will understand that title.

Had a crazy phone conversation earlier this evening. A friend was ranting about a close friend that he might actually like as, well, more than just a close friend.

Him: *rant rant* You know what I mean?
Me: Yes, exactly!
Him: But she's... *goes off into this mini-monologue about her*
Me: There you go again.
Him: No, no, no, but I'm mad at her.
Me: Right.

Then we veer off the subject when I say that he's beginning to sound like a TV sitcom character that we both love. So he said that his life is like a sitcom. "I'm living a sitcom life," he said. Hahaha, okayyyy...

"It's like Joey. A spin-off of the original, and I'm the only one left. Then last week, almost everyone comes back as guest stars."

I had to admit, that day's episode was fun.

Tomorrow's another coffee episode. And I'm the recurring guest star.

I miss having these 3wayjabber conversations. Baby bro, did you get my text?

Swimming in seafood in Dampa

The cast and crew of Kudeta didn't get to have a cast party after its closing show last Sunday because of the Pasinaya, plus half of the cast had EJ rehearsals in the evening. So Sir Floy invited a whole bunch of us to dinner at Dampa in Libis yesterday.

By the time Tad and I had arrived at Dampa, only Bajo was there, waiting for the rest to turn up. As it turned out, we were the first ones there. Riki had arrived a few minutes after we did, and we just stood around outside until the server that was assigned to Sir Floy's reservation approached us and said that we can go inside our dining area already.

The rest trickled in later. There was Chrome, Marj with John-john (sp?), Jerald, Bong, Wenah, Max, Anna, Tara and Russ, before Sir Floy had finally arrived to shop for the food. Of course, the whole time we were waiting, Chrome was still at it with his card tricks, introducing Je as one of his new apprentices. Chynna, Minette, Paulo and Jo-an arrived a little later. Hahaha, we found out that our server's name was Michael, so we called him Mikey, after Bong's character in Kudeta. How apt, hahaha.

Finally the food came. I mostly attacked the pusit and the shrimps, while the rest favored the crab. And even though Tad was allergic to almost every kind of seafood, both of us filled an entire plate just because of those darn shrimps. Yummm. I actually preferred the one with the spicy sauce than the fried salt-and-pepper shrimp. And of course, with all that kind of food, di uso ang poise with the whole spoon-and-fork. Kamayan galore! Wheee! The whole table was loaded with food that it was as if we weren't going to eat the next day, hahahaha!

Thank you for dinner, Sir Floy! You've been nothing but good to all of us. I sure hope I get to work with you sometime.

OK, you want to hear something funny? Part of me is seriously thinking about that ballroom dancing thing. It's been one of my biggest frustrations since I was a kid. Everyone wanted to dance modern stuff, and I seemed to be the only one I know who's actually interested in ballroom at a young age. Every time I watch dance competitions on TV, I marvel at how beautiful those couples dance together as one. Oh well. We'll see.

This year's Pasinaya at CCP

This year, I had told myself to enjoy as much of the Pasinaya's festivities as I can, because I didn't get to enjoy last year's CCP Open House Festival. Not that last year wasn't fun. It was actually a blast. Well, if I hadn't had those drama queen episodes, I really would've had a blast.

So that was my goal this year. I didn't really have an agenda, even though I told myself several times to study the day's schedule so I can map out what I could do every half hour (if that was humanly possible). Being the scatterbrain that I am, I decided to play things by ear, even though there were a whole bunch of events that I really wanted to attend.

Went to CCP early to make it a little before the 10am opening. I only got to watch the Philippine Marine Drum and Bugle Corps right outside the entrance because I was so fascinated by the drums. I wish I could play as fast as those snare drum players. Because they were the last to perform at that particular site, I heard over the speakers (which were conveniently standing just a couple of feet next to me during that time) about the official opening of the festival at the CCP open grounds. Saw a flash of blue while I was walking alone and followed it upon finding out that the blue shirt belonged to Sir Roeder. We had a brief chat about this summer's workshops before I spotted the khaki-and-camouflage-clad group that I had seen just minutes ago. Hehe, headed over to the cast of Kudeta to say hello to Tad and the rest as we watched (were they?) the Ramon Obusan Folkloric group perform right on the grounds before all the formalities of the opening began. Yay, the Pasinaya was finally open soon after Mr. Nestor Jardin made a contribution to the festival.

I parted from the rest of the crowd by the time we entered the Main Theater lobby via the ramp. I anticipated the crowd that will be using the elevator, so I took the stairs to the 4th floor to check out that "Learn Ballroom Dancing Instantly" by the Philippine Dance Teachers Association at the MKP. By the time I went inside, most of the attendees were early teens and middle aged people, most of which are female. And I was the only one who went there alone, hahaha. Anyway, we tackled the waltz during that entire half hour, and I stood out like a sore thumb when it was time to pair up, hahaha. So I ended up being paired up with one of the instructors who were just standing by one wall. In fairness, it was pretty easy, because I've already mastered the basics in 7th grade. I got a little confused with the natural turn though, ahehe.

We were allowed to stay for the next session if we wanted to, so I stayed put. Ended up doing the cha-cha for the next half hour. Holy kamote, I thought I got the hang of it after the basic backward step (what was it called again?), but when we started doing turns, I almost lost it. Hahaha. Then the instructor let us go a little faster. That was better. I didn't realize how tough it could be going slow at first because it meant learning and unlearning things all over again. And I thought I was confident enough already to do the basic cha-cha, hahaha!

After that, we were told to leave the venue to give the rest of the people waiting outside a chance to attend the next session. Grabbed my stuff and left immediately, because I got a text from Micah that she, Dyown, Zee and Joyce were at Mang Inasal. Before I managed to round the corner to the elevator, this man stopped me and asked if I took dance lessons before. Huwat? With these two left feet? I only took ballroom dancing as a co-curricular activity in 7th grade, but that was it. Then the guy asked me if I wanted to dance ballroom competitively and handed me his card so I can contact him if I was interested, then he asked for my number as well. Hmmm, I was suspicious at this, but I obliged. Holy kamote, when I looked at the card hours later, I realized that the man I talked to was the president of the PDTA.

Found Russ, Anna, Jen, Kat, Nicco, and Nicco's friend Chona at the LT lobby and briefly said hello to Nicco before they headed to a different venue and I resumed my walk to Mang Inasal. Micah, Dyown, Zee and Joyce had just finished eating, so after I had sat down for a few minutes, we returned to CCP to look for something to do. Ended up hanging over the ledge of the 3rd floor as we looked down at the Philippine Performing Arts Guild performing at the Main Theater Lobby below. I got so fascinated watching the Pandanggo (what, are the water glasses glued to their heads or something?) and the Tinikling (those deadly bamboo poles never fail to amaze me).

We then trooped down to the Batute so they can watch the Kudeta excerpt, but we got separated when we got inside the theater. I was the first one among us to enter, and grabbed my favorite position on the bleachers, while they ended up following the ushers to the seats on the other side. Oh well. The excerpt they did was the scene between Lieutenant le Grange (Tad) and Lieutenant Chan (Sugus) in the 2nd act, wahahaha. Kulit. After that, I sped out of the theater and into the LT lobby for the EJ excerpt show. To my shock, the line for that snaked all over the lobby and I didn't bother looking for the end, as I think it spilled out of the lobby. Holy kamote. To my relief, I found Ms. Yvette by the entrance and she gestured me to follow so I can grab seats for me and the rest prior to open house. Yay, thanks, Ms. Yvette! Once again, I got separated, as they wanted to sit right up front and I wanted to sit a little farther up (I hate the front because of the "neck effort," hahaha) next to Anna, Russ, Nicco and Chona. Chynna had said via the voice-over that they will be presenting "ang unang tagpo" of the musical, so I expected at least an entire scene. When the show began, Nar enters and begins the opening song number, and the rest of the cast are wheeled in as they stand on a platform on tracks. Rakrakan galore na, and it was so funny that half the cast were still wearing their Kudeta costumes. When the song ended, the audience clapped briefly, waiting in anticipation for the scene to continue as the lights went out. Then the house lights went back on. That was it? Hahahaha! Bitin.

When the 3pm show of Kudeta began, Gino and I decided to bum around as we think of what to do next. Ended up going to the MKP for "Learn to Sing" with the Philippine Madrigal Singers. Well, just one of them really, and I forgot his name (sorry!). In fairness, we did a lot in the span of just 30 minutes. That was a blast. I actually miss my voice lessons.

Bummed around with Gino and Joan at the buffeteria while Kudeta was hot on its 2nd act. Hahaha, heard a whole bunch of playtime as the cast emerged from the dressing room, like Mailes joining the opening scene, the Arawak scene, and the photo op French scene. Then Riki took Nar's place as seamstress in Black Lightning's execution scene. I didn't get to watch the show, but I'm sure they were so hilarious.

After the show, I killed time with Gino outside the conference room before they began EJ rehearsals, then headed for Harbour Square. Being the super(girl)friend that I am, I went coffee-shop-hopping as I waited for Tad after their rehearsal. Never mind that they ended super late at 11:30. At least I managed to make a huge dent in the book I'm currently reading.

Is it me, or did I notice a hint of envy from someone? One friend just mentioned a fact that we both share, and one person suddenly counters it by emphasizing something to be more on top. Insecurity? Jeez.

What a long day. But it was worth it. I really did have fun. Tomorrow's just to "kick back and relax." (HAHAHAHA!) Seriously, a day to relax is in order. We have to decide between siomai and dampa.

some friends and Hamlet's preview show

Last Wednesday, I met up with Drei in Glorietta, and managed to drag him to chick flick 27 Dresses despite his protests, hahaha. Typical chick flick, and I liked the "Always a bridesmaid" cliche. Having just typed that, I can hear Cathy's rendition of "Always a Bridemaid, Never a Bride" from I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change in my head, hahaha.

Hehe, I got even more addicted to Timezone's Percussion Master. Trying out the hard mode this time. Yahoo. Marianne, you gotta try the hard mode. Nakakaloka.

Drei had also planned to meet with Camille and the rest of their block at around 8, so after the movie, we went to Rustan's bridal registry where Ting works and Camille was already there. When Rustan's was closing, the four of us then walked to Gloria Jeans to wait for the others. Erin and her boyfriend (I forgot his name, sorry!) arrived after a while, then Earl had arrived a few minutes before Camille had to leave. Too bad I had to go home before Arman had arrived, as he thought that the venue was going to be in Greenbelt, not Glorietta, hahaha.

Even though I never get to hang out with the rest as often as Drei and Nicco did before, I loved these guys. During the rest of my stay in college from my thesis until, well, after that (hahaha), they were the ones I hung out with most often other than Nikki, Misch and Mimay. They were real, not unlike those plastic people that I had met before them.

Yesterday afternoon, I headed to CCP from CSB to kill time before I had to go to Greenbelt for the preview show of Rep's Hamlet. So bummed around in Batute during Kudeta's pick-up rehearsal. When they were done, I went with the AC to the TP office to pickup their pay. Hahaha, I purposely didn't get my paycheck upon the show's opening as I didn't want to use it up, but heck, I was there already, so yay, I have money again, hahaha.

After dinner, I was off to Greenbelt and wandered around the mall, killing more time while I waited for Mimay to arrive. As it turned out, I had 3 preview tickets with Jerald, as a couple of his guests had backed out at the last minute. The day before, he told me that he could only spare 1 ticket, so I got that for Mimay, and I got another ticket from Sundee. Oh well, when Je had texted me at the last minute about the extra tickets, I got all 3, because Mimay's friends Star and Lucien were going as well. Star got the 3rd ticket, while Lucien paid for his, hahaha. Thanks for the tickets, Je!

It's actually refreshing for Rep to do some experimental treatment on Hamlet. It seems that they hardly do so until last year. No traditional Shakespearean costumes and set. All that remained pure was the text. They turned it into some Mad Max themed concept. No elaborate sets, just platforms and minimal set pieces. And I love the costumes, hahaha! Je now sported a mohawk, wahahaha!

Too lazy to write a review right now, ahehehe. Maybe tomorrow when I wake up.

Randomness coming up.

I still haven't gotten around to returning Mia's copy of Frank Beddor's "The Looking Glass Wars." I guess I got hooked. I want my own copy, hahaha. Any of you guys read it already? It's like the "real" story of Alice In Wonderland.

Just a thought. Y'know, it's totally annoying when some people talk about people you know (and even more importantly, the ones that you are close to) as if they have the right to say such things. You have the gall to call them so and so and like this and that when you don't even know them. Jeez. That's just so sad.

When I ran into someone in the lobby and we joked about "crossing over," I totally have to agree that things are different over there. Wise choice to decide to come back. I've been there. I never realized how plastic I was until I felt that my face was going to give from smiling too much than I really can. It's too much for me. I'm so glad I'm over all that.
