Twisted Valentine

I had always thought, due to past experiences, that Valentine's Day is one of the most unlucky days of the year for me. So I decided not to join all the overrated hype of Valentine's Day.

I dropped by CCP in the afternoon so I can spend at least one hour with Tad in between their rehearsals. Just a quick dinner, then I tagged along with him to the Little Theater. There was a flurry of activity going on in one of the dressing rooms as the costumes were just being distributed. After Tad got his stuff, I took a seat in the house as he had to rehearse one of his songs again. Then I told him that I'll step out for a while, and maybe drop by Dencio's where Sugus and Jerald were hanging out, as they had invited some of the people to join them for a beer or two.

Since there wasn't really much to do in the LT, I headed over to Dencio's to join the guys. As it turned out, no one else could join them. After I finally settled on a drink, we suddenly got into this conversation on "The Secret", as it had become Je's bible since he first started reading it and realized that it really works. Then Sugus started comparing it with "Conversations With God", as it had a lot of similarities with the other book. As for me, I just listened to each guy's points, as they were both right. Simply put, it's just a matter of becoming more optimistic. I had this nonchalant look on my face half the time, but I was still intrigued about "The Secret" (thanks to Ola and Nicco for raising my curiousity) and I'm still debating with myself whether I should buy myself a copy or not.

Well, it wasn't really all that profound the whole time, knowing that this is Sugus and Jerald we're talking about here (HAHAHA). Kidding, guys.

Sometime past 8 o'clock, Sugus had to leave, so after ordering a couple more drinks for me (Je still had about 4 San Migs in the bucket that they had ordered earlier) and a ginormous serving of crispy pata, he paid for everything. Yay, thanks, Sugus! Well, I never say no to free food, so Je and I got 1 order of rice to share, and dug into the crispy pata.

Despite the many pregnant pauses while the two of us were sitting there, I realized that it wasn't awkward anymore. Sure, I had noticed it before last year, but I just noticed it again this evening because of all the silence I had noted in between talks. But I just have to say, panalo ang tanong na ito: "How did you manage to get over me?" HAHAHAHA! Close talaga tayo, pare!

After consuming most of our drinks (hey, I finished mine. Je gave up on his, hahaha), we both decided to call it a night. Je left CCP as I headed back to LT to watch the remaining scenes of the EJ rehearsal. Managed to catch most of Act 2 by the time I had settled in my seat behind Riki, Wenah and Ate Bheng.

Hmm... I wonder if the cast is ready for tomorrow's opening night?

Tad was uber-tired by the time their run had ended, and I guess I don't blame him for taking his anger and fatigue out on me. *sigh* I told you, valentine or no valentine, the occasion is one of my unlucky days of the year, hahaha.

But the conversation we had tonight really made up for it. Thanks, love. Happy Valentine's Day. =)
