some friends and Hamlet's preview show

Last Wednesday, I met up with Drei in Glorietta, and managed to drag him to chick flick 27 Dresses despite his protests, hahaha. Typical chick flick, and I liked the "Always a bridesmaid" cliche. Having just typed that, I can hear Cathy's rendition of "Always a Bridemaid, Never a Bride" from I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change in my head, hahaha.

Hehe, I got even more addicted to Timezone's Percussion Master. Trying out the hard mode this time. Yahoo. Marianne, you gotta try the hard mode. Nakakaloka.

Drei had also planned to meet with Camille and the rest of their block at around 8, so after the movie, we went to Rustan's bridal registry where Ting works and Camille was already there. When Rustan's was closing, the four of us then walked to Gloria Jeans to wait for the others. Erin and her boyfriend (I forgot his name, sorry!) arrived after a while, then Earl had arrived a few minutes before Camille had to leave. Too bad I had to go home before Arman had arrived, as he thought that the venue was going to be in Greenbelt, not Glorietta, hahaha.

Even though I never get to hang out with the rest as often as Drei and Nicco did before, I loved these guys. During the rest of my stay in college from my thesis until, well, after that (hahaha), they were the ones I hung out with most often other than Nikki, Misch and Mimay. They were real, not unlike those plastic people that I had met before them.

Yesterday afternoon, I headed to CCP from CSB to kill time before I had to go to Greenbelt for the preview show of Rep's Hamlet. So bummed around in Batute during Kudeta's pick-up rehearsal. When they were done, I went with the AC to the TP office to pickup their pay. Hahaha, I purposely didn't get my paycheck upon the show's opening as I didn't want to use it up, but heck, I was there already, so yay, I have money again, hahaha.

After dinner, I was off to Greenbelt and wandered around the mall, killing more time while I waited for Mimay to arrive. As it turned out, I had 3 preview tickets with Jerald, as a couple of his guests had backed out at the last minute. The day before, he told me that he could only spare 1 ticket, so I got that for Mimay, and I got another ticket from Sundee. Oh well, when Je had texted me at the last minute about the extra tickets, I got all 3, because Mimay's friends Star and Lucien were going as well. Star got the 3rd ticket, while Lucien paid for his, hahaha. Thanks for the tickets, Je!

It's actually refreshing for Rep to do some experimental treatment on Hamlet. It seems that they hardly do so until last year. No traditional Shakespearean costumes and set. All that remained pure was the text. They turned it into some Mad Max themed concept. No elaborate sets, just platforms and minimal set pieces. And I love the costumes, hahaha! Je now sported a mohawk, wahahaha!

Too lazy to write a review right now, ahehehe. Maybe tomorrow when I wake up.

Randomness coming up.

I still haven't gotten around to returning Mia's copy of Frank Beddor's "The Looking Glass Wars." I guess I got hooked. I want my own copy, hahaha. Any of you guys read it already? It's like the "real" story of Alice In Wonderland.

Just a thought. Y'know, it's totally annoying when some people talk about people you know (and even more importantly, the ones that you are close to) as if they have the right to say such things. You have the gall to call them so and so and like this and that when you don't even know them. Jeez. That's just so sad.

When I ran into someone in the lobby and we joked about "crossing over," I totally have to agree that things are different over there. Wise choice to decide to come back. I've been there. I never realized how plastic I was until I felt that my face was going to give from smiling too much than I really can. It's too much for me. I'm so glad I'm over all that.
